Back reads, "This building, one of the few municipally owned museums in America, is unique in arrangement and installation of the interior and is divided into three main wings--European, Asiatic and American, with the arts of each periods shown in appropriate settings. Many of the institute's treasures are famed throughout the entire world, including the Diego Rivera frescoes which were the center of a national controversy a few years ago."
