Description Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Signage affixed to the rear of the display reads, "Detroit, The Arsenal of Democracy Provides the Tools for Victory." Images from differing plants including Chrysler and Willow Run surround the signage and depict tanks, airplanes, and other war effort materials being produced. A smaller sign in front of the larger affixed signage reads, "War Expenditures Come Back to Detroit." Also, signage in the central foreground reads, "But U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Delivery War Bonds, 11th Floor, Woodward, Section D./" The photographic sequence number, date, and photographer's name are printed on the recto, "18870-6x; 9-2-43; Davis B. Hillmer."
