Description | Black and white photo taken from a window on the northeast corner of Woodward Avenue and Grand Boulevard facing south down Woodward. The Detroit Drug Company; the offices of Dr. Valentine, dentist, and Dr. Rudolph, oculist; a lawyer; Walk-Over Shoes; a chiropractor; a chop suey restaurant; Longan Restaurant; and the Detroit Savings Bank have signs on the west side of Woodward. The storefronts on the east side of Woodward include the American State Bank, Dr. Kathan Dentists, a chiropractor, the Green Mill Cafe, Liberty Shoe Shine Parlor, the Norwood Theatre, a pharmacy, the Woods Dancing Academy, the Dime Savings Bank, Demery and Company, a cafeteria, and a clothing store with a large elaborate sign. Streetcars and automobiles share the road. A Grand Trunk Railroad overpass, the Maccabees Building, and the Wardell are in the background. "Looking South on Woodward Ave. from Grand Blvd. 5 P.M." is typewritten on the verso. "1927," was handwritten on a Post-It note previous affixed to the verso. |
