Description |
Black and white photo of the exterior of Orchestra Hall, as taken from the sidewalk on the eastside of Woodward Avenue, next to the intersection with Parsons Street, facing northwest. Several panels of information about the building, the campaign to save the structure, and blank spaces for contributors to the project, have been posted around the Parson-Woodward corner of the building. A sign for a Detroit Police Department mini-station is posted above a doorway on the north side of the building's Woodward face. Two cars are parked along Woodward in front of the building's entrance, and a man walks southward behind them. Another figure is near the right edge of frame, in front of the theatre. Several notes, presumably concerning the publication of this image, have been handwritten on the recto in red and orange grease pencil, "M7 2 7/8," and "37% #8," as well as a pair of horizontal lines near the left edge. "Used 1977, April Motor News," and "Orchestra Hall, Detroit, Mich." are handwritten on the verso. |
