Scope & Content | Promotional poster bearing a color photo, credited to Jack Higgins, of the hydroplane MISS PEPSI, as taken off of its starboard side on its recto. An articles entitled, "The Man in the Mahogany Cigar," by Steve Garey, detailing the history of the boat, including its owners Russell, Walter, and Roy Dossin, its designer John Hacker, its driver Chuck Thompson, its many races and records, and its display at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. A photo of President Harry Truman presenting the President's Cup Trophy to Chuck Thompson and Roy Dossin is accompanies the articles. A note at the bottom credits the funding of the poster to the Great Lakes Maritime Institute and to the Pioneers of Powerboating. |
