A commemorative document entitled "The First UAW-GM Agreement, February 11, 1937," printed in blue, red, and gold on decorative beige paper by the UAW Education Department. Following a brief introductory passage, the text of the first contract between the United Auto Workers and General Motors is reprinted. The document bears the names of William S. Knudsen, J.T. Smith, and D. Brown representing GM, and Wyndham Mortimer, Lee Pressman, and John L. Lewis of the UAW and CIO. The bottom of the page bears the UAW seal alongside "Education Department - 800 East Jefferson Avenue - Detroit, Michigan 48214." |
