Description Photograph. Black and white photo showing the Davis Undertaking Parlors which was the future home of the Pontiac Sales Office of the Detroit Edison Company. The image shows a front corner view of a 2-story Italianate-style wood frame house which was located at 44 State Street (later re-named West Huron Street) in Pontiac. A sign over the front porch shows "Davis Funeral Director, Private Ambulance." The address number, "44," shows over the door and a sign in the window to the right of the door shows "DeWitt C. Davis, Undertaking Parlors." A horse-drawn ambulance is stopped on the street in front of the house and one man is seated in the driver's seat of the wagon. The house has a small front yard with sidewalks and two large trees. A 1.5-story brick building with decorative masonry work can be seen in the right background area of the photo. Printed text near the lower right corner of the photo shows "H. George Studio, Pontiac, Michigan" and the number, "62924-3."
